The scary thing about the characteristics of each person is that it’s truest to the letter. The latest research by the University of Glasco, suggests that personality traits can be found in facial features. Imagine that, you are actually able to make a judgement about someone’s personality, from face value. According to an article published on the BBC website, regarding the university’s research, men and women are more intuitive then they think, when they assess others based on looks.

The study used composite faces to compare self-assessed traits.

Dr Jenkins, a specialist in the psychology of social interaction, devised the study, along with Professor Richard Wiseman, of the University of Hertfordshire. Dr Jenkins said the research should pave the way for further investigations into the link between a person’s character and their appearance. “Past studies have shown that people do associate facial appearance with certain personality traits and that our snap judgements of faces really do suggest a kernel of truth about the personality of their owner,” he said.

If this rings true, then I am going to be very cautious of men that resemble my ex-partner. What is really fascinating though, is that we judge people anyway. The slip of a tongue, the clothes people wear, their accent and a range of other features. What do people think about us?

“There is nothing to fear, but fear itself” – Qoute

For many years I worried about my scars and never dared to walk in public with shorts. I recently learned that scars are a testimont of how competitve we are. It is a symbol that we have lived and are living with the ability to exceed even our own expectations.

So I slapped on some boots and shorts  and decided to have some fun outside. Something I feared for a long time. But as the famous saying goes, “There is nothing to fear, but fear itself”.

I am happy that this photo looks so stunning. That’s one less thing to worry about.

When we break a promise to others, it's not nearly as devastating as when we brak a promise to ourselves.

There are things our parents never teach us. Some of them show us the basics and then leave the rest up to our imagination. So when you are a child, you think and act like a child, as the Holy Bible states. Surprisingly enough though, when you reach adulthood, you are miraculously expected to know about physical and emotional boundaries, personal space, finance, balancing your income and expenses, and what is or is not appropriate toward others.

I think this is the unfair part in life. Some of us have great parents, who act more like leaders then managers. They inspire us so deeply, that we aspire to raising the bar every step of the way. For the rest of the poor orphans, homeless children or even people born into severely dysfunctional families, they are left to face the odds, face the world and face the drama that follows. However, a wise mate once said to me: “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. What kills you makes your mother stronger”. As funny as that seems, it is similar to what Dr. John Demartini says: “That everything serves, good or bad”. And if you look deep enough into any situation, you could find the lesson behind the experience. You are able to understand how you grew from it or why it was necessary for you to go endure that.

This is the most imperative point. In a nutshell, it is the realisation that we are at choice no matter what our abilities or limitations are. In a state of consciousness, we are able to assess our stand point and perspectives. We can start to take responsibility for the behavioural patterns that we have been programmed with. We can even assess our weaknesses and ascertain what needs to be done differently, in order to achieve success. No matter what your definition of success is, almost all of us go through challenges daily. With the right environmental influence, guidance and mentors, we learn or gain knowledge and life strategies. This is how we cope. And when we are deprived of the perfect teacher, we should look for the wisdom within, because we are inevitably “own best friend and our own worst enemy”. In fact, I have heard a thousand times before, that “when the student is ready, the teacher will come”.

The secret to life is living it! Living it to the extent that your job is not just your reason for an income, but your passion, which getting paid for it is just a bonus. Knowing that the person you love is not robbing you of your true personality or emotionally suffocating you. When you find balance in everything you do, abstaining from overindulgence, avoiding addictions and vices. No matter who says what, in terms of your life, you are the single most imperative character. You are the DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR and SCRIPT WRITER, deciding future events that occur in it. As the leading man or lady in chapters that make up your book of life, you are at choice constantly. You can choose to be the best or worst person for the job, task or daily routine. Then again you can choose to never to repeat your activities, change your career, change your outcomes and work from consciousness toward a greater goal, instead if a 9 to 5 job and steady pay cheque.

Everyone needs someone to rely on, sometimes. Our plans may not always be perfect, but what in this life is? And having a plan or even an idea of one is a great start. Sometimes you will reach speed bumps in the road, or road blocks, just take a deep breath and proceed cautiously. Think about the additional time you will have to plan for supper or your myriads of other tasks. Take a deep breath and realise that “Everything serves you good or bad”. This lifetime is your one chance to write or re-write your script! If you never had parents with leadership skills, be an outstanding example of one to your children, if you never grew up with parents, be the best you can be when your children are born, if you were never taught the right or best way to live under your given circumstances, go out and learn as much as you can.

Don’t be a statistic of negativity, beat the odds and claim your victory in life, because no one in this life will ever matter as much you do in your own life. No one will ever love or hate you as much as you love or hate yourself. No one will ever please you, as much the happiness you seek to experience or the boundaries you limit yourself with. No one will even know you more than you. Today is the day you start loving yourself more than anything or anyone, if you don’t already. Learn to love yourself first and the rest will surely fall into place. Remember: When we break promises to others, the consequence aren’t nearly as devastating as when we break a promise to ourselves.
